Lewis Hamilton getting closer to Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc

Lewis Hamilton was around half a second off the pace of new teammate Charles Leclerc, during his first two practice sessions as a Ferrari driver.

However, Sky Sports F1 reporter Craig Slater believes that Hamilton is ‘getting closer to Leclerc’, and is building his confidence through the sessions, ahead of the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The seven time world champion was six tenths off the Monégasque driver in Free Practice 1, finding himself down in P12 on the timesheets, but closed...

Iraola feels Soler is a different player compared to ‘physically elite’ Kerkez

AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has revealed that he feels new signing Julio Soler is a different player compared to the ‘physically elite’ Milos Kerkez.

Soler joined the Cherries in January, from Argentinian club Lanus, but spent a month away at the U20 South American Championship and has featured in just one game for Iraola’s side.

When the Argentine was signed, many felt that he was coming in as the successor to Kerkez, if the full back was to depart at the end of the...

Cherries cruise past West Brom in the FA Cup

AFC Bournemouth cruised through to the fourth round of the FA Cup, beating West Bromwich Albion 5-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

A Dango Ouattara brace, along with goals from Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison ensured that there was no cup upset on the south coast.

West Brom had taken the lead after just 14 minutes, when Caleb Taylor headed home from close range, as the Cherries made a slow start.

However, Kluivert levelled up the tie with a smart finish at the...

The Rise From Disgrace

As Dwain Chambers leans back in his chair, surrounded by the impressive Lee Valley Athletics Centre, you could’ve been forgiven for thinking this was an athlete who’d had a straightforward career in the world of sprinting. His infectious smile exudes warmth, and he speaks with the confidence and clarity that leaves you hanging on to every word he says. However, beneath the surface is a man who was once isolated beyond belief, and has since conquered a mammoth climb to reach the peak of the mountain where he stands today.

Billy Schwer: Beating the Count

“My life as I knew it was over”

The year is 2001, a summer’s evening in the middle of July. For Billy Schwer however, it was the beginning of a rapid slide into the doldrums of depression.

Schwer lies in the back of an ambulance, speeding towards the Royal Free Hospital in London, fearing for his life. The Luton-born boxer has just been knocked out in the 11th round of his IBO World Super Lightweight clash with Pablo Daniel Sarmiento, losing his world title in the process, but right now th...

Bournemouth 2-2 Man United: Honours even in a thrilling clash at the Vitality

Manchester United kept their fading Champions League dream alive by the barest of margins after a Bruno Fernandes penalty rescued a draw away at Bournemouth.

The Cherries started quickly, and their pressure told in the 16th minute when top goalscorer Dominic Solanke fired home from the edge of the box to score his 17th Premier League goal of the season.

The Red Devils hit back through Fernandes’ close-range finish before Justin Kluivert restored Bournemouth's lead, taking advantage of some mor...

What it means to be a Hatter

As Fankaty Dabo sent the ball sailing over the bar and into a sea of orange pandemonium, for me and many other Hatters the overriding feeling was disbelief.

In fact, over 2 weeks on from our day under the arch and it still hasn’t really sunk in that Luton Town are in the Premier League. It’s almost as if no one dare believe it has actually happened, like the fairytale of the last decade has just been one long dream.

But to appreciate the highs, you must first experience the lows. The 2012/...
